rm showcase

The RM Showcase is a platinum sponsor of the Wimmera Music Eisteddfod and sponsors the awards for Most Promising Piano and Vocal Students as judged by the adjudicator each year. Along with a monetary prize, winners of this award are afforded the opportunity to perform at the annual RM Showcase concert held in late November each year. The RM Showcase began in 2004 to honour the legacy of the late Richard Morris. Richard along with his wife Jan, was a champion of the Performing Arts in the region particularly for younger performers. This showcase features a diverse line-up of local singers, dancers, musicians and school groups from across the Wimmera. At the conclusion of each concert, financial scholarships and encouragement awards are presented to aspiring performing artists.

Facebook Post from Alex Rathgeber (01/08/26): “One for the grid. In Horsham for the Wimmera Music Eisteddfod last night, it was so special to sit and catch up with Jan Morris who helmed the Horsham Arts Council (with her late husband Richard) when I was a kid learning the musical theatre ropes in The Sound of Music and Godspell. They created such a loving, fantastic atmosphere - it felt magical. And here she is all these years later, still out supporting young talent at every opportunity. What a gem you are, Janny. Horsham’s incredibly lucky to have you.”
