Melissa LangtoN | VOCAL ADJUDICATOR
Melissa's versatility as an entertainer is highlighted by her unique performances in cabaret, music theatre and on the concert platform. Her theatre appearances include Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables, The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, HMS Pinafore, Eurobeat, Strange Bedfellows, We Will Rock You, The Threepenny Opera, Into the Woods, How to Kill Your Husband, and City of Angels.
For The Production Company Melissa has played leading roles in the musicals: Carousel, 42nd Street, Damn Yankees, Follies, Crazy for You, Sugar and Curtains.
Her cabaret and live music shows have been performed in New York and Dublin and at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Sydney Cabaret Convention, The Auckland Festival, His Majesty’s in Perth and The Famous Spiegeltent at the Melbourne Festival. She and her husband, musical director Mark Jones, have performed in almost every venue in Victoria and Australia over the last 20 years, with their shows; What’s New Pussycat, Still Living in the 70’s, Get Back – The Lennon & McCartney Songbook, Swinging on Broadway and more!
Melissa produces The Cabaret Showcases which is a mentor program for young cabaret artists, which has been running for over 20 years, initially at Capers Cabaret, and for the last 10 years, at Chapel off Chapel.
Melissa is also a member of the popular girl group The Fabulous Singlettes and has performed with the group regularly since 1998 throughout Australia, Asia and Europe.
Melissa received as 2002 Green Room Award for Best Cabaret Artist and Best Cabaret Ensemble (with Mark Jones) and was the winner of The 2001 Sydney Cabaret Convention. She has also received numerous Green Room Award nominations for her roles in music theatre, opera and cabaret. Her solo album, When the Rain Falls Up, was released in 2002. She released her second album in 2019, What the World Needs Now, a duo album with her husband Mark.
Melissa has been teaching, lecturing and adjudicating for over 30 years now at institutions and schools including Monash University, The Australian Institute of Music, Firbank Grammar, Melbourne Ladies College, Ruyton Girls School, Toorak College, Billanook College, Patrick Studios Australia, Dance World, Joining the Chorus, The Geelong, Mt Gambier, Bendigo and Ballarat Eisteddfods.
CAROLINE ALMONTE | INSTRUMENTAL ADJUDICATOR
One of Australia’s soloists, chamber musicians and educators, Caroline Almonte has a wide- ranging career as a pianist, producer, presenter and recording artist.
Her awards include the 2019 Australian Women in Music - Excellence in Classical Music Award as well as the winner of the Keyboard section of the ABC Young Performer’s Awards and 1st prize at the international chamber music competition in Italy Premio “Trio di Trieste”.She has performed throughout Australia and in Canada, China, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, South America, U.K and the United States, including appearances at the Edinburgh Festival, Shanghai International Piano Festival and Teatro Colosseo Series in Buenos Aires.
In Australia, Caroline has performed at the Melbourne and Perth International Festivals,Adelaide International Cello Festival, WOMAD, the Dunkeld Weekend of Music, Musica Viva’s Huntington Estate Music Festival and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music in Townsville, which included a live broadcast on ABC classic FM of the Goldberg Variations. Her many musical collaborations include the Australia Ensemble, the Australian String Quartet, Sarah Chang, Duo Sol, Escher Quartet, Flinders Quartet, Daniel Hope, Yvonne Kenny, Ralph Kirschbaum, Dimity Shepherd, Duo Sol, Sutherland Trio and Pieter Wispelwey. In 2018, Pieter Wispelwey and Caroline Almonte were nominated for a Helpmann Award for their performances of the complete works of Beethoven and Brahms Sonatas for cello and piano at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
Caroline, together with violinist Elizabeth Sellars and cellist Molly Kadarauch is one of the founding members of the Sutherland Trio, in honour of Australia’s matriarch of Australian composition - Margaret Sutherland. As a soloist, Caroline has performed piano concerti ranging from Mozart and Beethoven through to Ravel and M, Caroline performed the Miriam Hyde Piano Concerto at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl live-streamed and broadcast on ABC Classic FM. Alongside her various performances on stage, Caroline continues a prolific teaching career and is passionate about working with young people. She teaches piano at the University of Melbourne and has been involved in several projects with the Australian Youth Orchestra, the Melbourne Youth Orchestra and the Australian Music Examinations Board including as a recording artist and producer for several series of the solo piano. Caroline’s recording career for ABC Classics include the Peggy Glanville Hicks “Etruscan” Piano Concerto with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra , Duo Sol and a recording of English Songs with Yvonne Kenny. She was delighted to support the HUSH music Foundation, performing Nigel Westlake’s ‘Diving with George’ with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Caroline was also a producer for ABC Classic FM .
Caroline regularly gives both piano and chamber music masterclasses. She has completed residencies across nine universities in the U.S as well as at the Banff Centre for the Arts Canada, University of Auckland, Xiamen University and Shanghai Conservatory in China.Caroline studied with Stephen McIntyre at the Victorian College of the Arts and Oxana Yablonskaya at the Juilliard School, New York.
Caroline currently teaches Piano and Chamber Music at the University of Melbourne .
STUART ANDREW | OFFICIAL ACCOMPANIST
Stuart Andrew (he/him) is a spirited conductor, educator, and pianist in Melbourne, Australia. He combines his classical training and pedigree with a forward-looking outlook and a remarkably diverse array of experience and skills. He has an unshakeable conviction in music's power to make the world a better place and seeks to demonstrate the beauty, intensity, and joy he feels in all music.
He has training and experience in music theatre piano, musical direction for theatre and concerts, classical piano (including as concerto soloist), jazz piano, music education and performance coaching. He currently teaches out of his private studio and at Wantirna College, directs the Victorian Scout Band, and occasionally collaborates on other music projects.

The Wimmera Music Eisteddfod is run entirely by Volunteers.
Each one of our Volunteers has been chosen because of their passion for the performing arts and their ability to make our patrons and guests feel completely at home. Many have taken time away from work and family to be involved with the 2024 Wimmera Music Eisteddfod.
The contribution of our amazing Volunteers is immeasurable - we couldn’t put together the WME without them.
